This has been floating (hah) around my head since I saw the It remake but I have zero time to write it myself. The Avengers all met once before as young teens in the town of Derry. Clint was with the circus, Natasha was on her first mission to determine if she was worth the time and resources needed to continue her training (might have to make her a little older than 6), Bruce's mom was making her last attempt to get away from her husband, maybe Howard was looking into some real estate and Maria thought Tony needed to hang out with regular kids, if it was a military thing Rhodey's father may have brought him along and maybe Sam's family was on a road trip and their car needs major repairs. They all start hanging out and encounter It, survive the summer, and then forget until almost 30 years later when reports of missing kids stir up the old memories and they know they have to go back. Bonus if Steve and Bucky met It in the summer of 1930. The previous winter had been really hard on Steve and getting out of the city was supposed to do him good and Bucky had relatives in Maine. I had figured 15 year cycles for It instead of 27 to get the time lines to work out but it doesn't really matter too much.
