Jealousy fill 1/?

"First?"

"Step forward with my left foot." Wanda repeated dutifully.

"Why?" Clint pressed.

"Because I am right handed, as is the vast majority."

She sounded almost amused as she stood opposite Clint on the mat, across the gym from Peter.

They'd been practicing self defense the last few days while he'd been stuck using the 'big boy equipment' as Falcon- er, Sam - had jokingly called it. Weight training, resistance, and rounds with a pre-programed suit that Tony had 'personally programed' for him to fight against.

The weights were personally tested by Captain America, no big deal at all. Why would he be intimidated by that?

Beyond showing him how the computer that ran the robot worked, and where the stacks of weights were, Tony had left him to it. Meanwhile he didn't think he'd seen the other teenager alone in the gym at any time. Certainly not while he was there.

"So show me." Clint adjusted his stance, left foot back to steady himself, shoulders square, gun pointed directly at Wanda.

She could just use her powers, Peter thought as he braced the barbell against his sternum before slowly lowering it again, taking a breath inwards as he did. It was stupid to fight with hands when you could just magic everything.

Instead of listening to his thoughts on the matter - could she actually do that? - Wanda stepped forward with her left foot, reaching out with both hands to grab his forearm from the underside, pushing it up towards the ceiling and ducking under it, using the momentum to turn herself, back pressed against his front.

"Next?"

"Try not to get my ass thrown?" Wanda rolled her own shoulders, hands on either side of Clint's wrist, "Twist, grab the barrel."

"Show me."

Wanda gripped tightly with her right hand, grabbing the barrel of the gun on top with her left hand. She didn't do it right, Peter assumed, because Clint swept her legs out from underneath her with his rightleg, tossing her onto her ass on the floor.

"What'd you do wrong?"

"I got my ass tossed." Wanda complained, mildly breathless.

"So let's try that again."

Peter focused on his weights, on his breathing as he carefully worked through as many as he could, until his arms started to feel weak, and sweat was dripping down his face, all the while watching them talk Wanda through the same move. Natasha even took over at one point, showing her in slow step by step motions the complete walkthrough of how to work it.

The first time she managed it she actually jumped, letting out a 'Yes!' of victory that earned her a laugh and a highfive from Clint. They kept at it even once Wanda had the move figured out, until she could do it without pausing.

He left the training room before they finished on the mats, jogging for the lockerroom, trying to ignore the jealousy churning in his gut. He'd never had anyone to train him, or to help him figure out moves. All he had was youtube tutorials that didn't exactly give him a full rundown, and Ned who wasn't exactly fond of letting Peter try out new moves against him.

He chucked his workout gear into his locker, grabbing a towel and heading for the showers. He might have overdone it watching them, Peter thought when it actually hurt to lift his arms high to wash his hair clear of sweat. Just a bit.

But that didn't mean he was really jealous.

He almost lost himself in a zen state, standing under the hot water that stayed hot so much longer than his apartment's shower did, did zone out enough that it took him a bit to register someone was speaking.

"--alone?"

"I'll hang out."

Wanda, and Natasha he realized after a moment. Shit, they'd finished training and were in for one of the other shower cubicals. He nearly flinched. Not that they'd peek or anything, but it wasn't exactly fun realizing there were girls that close when he was naked and vulnerable.

"Hey," Natasha called out, now above the whisper she'd been using with Wanda, "Females in the locker, so if you don't want your bits seen make sure you cover them up."

"Nat!"

"What?" Natasha was clearly amused, "Go shower off. Sam's making you a post workout smoothie, and Steve's gonna grouch at you if you haven't drank it by time he and Bucky are back from their run."

Peter felt a twinge of jealousy that he pushed back. He had some granola bars in his backpack, he was fine.
Besides, Aunt May probably made better drinks than Sam.

--

The next time he caught her in the gym training at the same time as him she was with Scott, the duo working on punching it seemed, Wanda with wrapped hands aiming for pads Scott had attached to his hands.
Simple repeating patterns, with Scott enthusiastically encouraging her along, instructing her which hands to use and when, occasionally reaching out with the pad and bopping her with it when her hands fell.

They had music playing that Scott turned down a few clicks when Peter came in, the only acknowledgment he was there. The only attention paid to him as he wrapped his own hands awkwardly, cuing up the robot to try and go a few rounds with his feet on the ground.

It didn't pull any warning punches, it didn't reach out and bop him. When Peter missed a dodge he got a full on punch to whatever bodypart was unguarded. It never paused for breaks, or for him to catch his breath. It came at him for as long as it was on, until finally Peter ordered it off, completely out of breath, ribs burning with each breath.

Afterwards he sat on the mat for a minute, catching his breath, slowly unwrapping his aching hands and trying not to get caught watching them across the gym. He flexed his now red fingers, feeling them stretch and burn, his knuckles popping unpleasantly. Scott had already carefully helped Wana unwrap her hands, checking them over as they went.

She obviously had no complaints, as now the duo were more goofing off than training, doing stretches to try and outdo the other. Wanda managed to do a handstand, but Scott won that one by doing half a pushup in his handstand, before falling and turning it into a tumble, sprawling out on his back while she laughed.

He didn't have time to goof off. He had to impress Mr. Stark. The man had set all this up for him, he was being so great about this, Peter couldn't let him down.

OP - oh my God I love this so much! Everyone is so in character and they're all so precious! Watching them interact with Wanda is the sweetest thing ever. <3 Poor Peter, feeling so alone... I'm sure the others would let you join in if you worked up the nerve to ask! Unfortunately that's not really how jealousy tends to make one think...
Can't wait for more! Love, love, love!

I really like this! It’s such a good premise and I like your handling of it! I think you hit the sort of subtlety that this needs. Tony and co. aren’t being deliberately awful to Peter, just giving him the same sort of neglect that we see in Homecoming, and Peter of course just wants to do right by them and doesn’t recognize just how unfairly he’s being treated.

Poor Peter. Trying so hard.

And I love seeing Wanda’s positive interactions with her teammates. I loved what little we saw on screen and you’ve done a great job capturing that here.

Would love to see some more of this if you ever feel up to it!
