Fill: The New Pack (3/?)
(Anonymous) 2020-04-13 05:52 am (UTC)(link)Sam gets stubborn.
He will defy Steve over the stupidest things just for the sake of defying him, even if there is no logic behind it.
He doesn't want to cum at Steve's hand, refuses to be soothed by Steve's touch, and doesn't even want to use the restroom if Steve is the one bringing him. He denies getting any enjoyment out of being mated, no matter how much he moans, and refuses food and water unless Steve forces it on him.
Steve doesn't doubt that if he told Sam to breathe, the man would hold his breath until he passed out just to spite him.
It's frustrating for Steve to constantly have to deal with his petulance, but he does his best to be patient with the man, reminding himself that this is a big change for Sam, and that he's dealing with a lot of new hormones right now that he isn't quite sure how to react to.
He just wishes that the man hadn't decided to cope with said hormones by dedicating himself to being contrary.
Scott gets clingy.
The man tries to downplay it, but he will start rubbing against the restraints in anxious need when Steve leaves him on his own for too long.
Scott actually manages to chafe one of his wrists bloody before Steve realizes that he's doing it, the man only relaxing when Steve fills him up with his knot.
Scott seems more confused than anything when Steve asks him about it, like he hadn't realized he was doing it.
Steve can't leave him alone for too long or Scott will start absently fidgeting himself to harm, which unfortunately cuts into the time that Steve has to mate the others. It takes him a good few weeks to pin down the exact amount of time he has before Scott starts to fret, but once he has that figured out he builds a routine around it. He's very careful to keep an eye on the man, however, in case the shift in hormones throws the timing off as things progress.
Natasha gets terrible mood swings.
Once minute she's cuddling into his touch, and the next she's snarling threats at him because he dared to brush up against her as he was walking past.
Sometimes she'll even switch moods right in the middle of one. On more than one occasion Steve has experienced her angry shout turning to a sob mid-sentence, and the next thing he knows the assassin is in tears and he's scrambling to comfort her.
It always leaves him feeling rather unbalanced and helpless because he can't ever predict how she's going to react to something.
What makes matters worse is that Natasha has one hell of a poker face. It's almost impossible to tell whether he's going to be greeted with a smile or if she's going to simply try to bite his fingers off.
It's always a game of Russian roulette with her, but Steve has serum enhanced reflexes and fast healing, so he always takes his chances.
And the occasional loving cuddle he gets from her makes every bite and scratch worth it.
Poor Wanda’s hormones make her get upset very easily.
She cries if Steve is too rough with her, or if he ignores her for too long, or if she thinks he's hurting one of the others. She gets teary eyed when the restraints start to chafe her delicate wrists, or when the large plug makes her ache, or sometimes even if Steve brings her food that she isn't fond of.
She will cry if he doesn't mate her on one of his repeat cycles through the others because she thinks he doesn't love her, but will also start sobbing when he knots her because she doesn't want to be an omega.
Everything makes her upset.
She's a miserable little mess, and Steve feels awful that he can't ever seem to keep her happy. All he can do is hush her and push though mating after mating, and hope that the hormones will eventually stabilize in her system so he doesn't have to listen to her cry herself to sleep every night.
So far, unfortunately, it's been a long couple of weeks with little progress.
It's starting to upset Steve.
Clint, in contrast, gets snappy and vicious.
The older alpha has been very blatantly incensed throughout the process, reacting to Steve's advances as he would to another alpha tying to claim his mate – with snarls and teeth.
More than that, though, the normally calm and collected archer no longer seems to have any kind of tolerance for annoyances, and will react immediately with anger to even the slightest things.
Steve had actually overheard the archer telling a crying Wanda to shut up because “you've already got it better than the rest of us, so don't act like you're the only one suffering” – something that Steve would not have believed had come from Clint had he not heard it with his own ears.
Of course, that had only made Wanda more upset, but it had been enough to catch Steve's attention and make him watch for it.
Sure enough, he noticed that the man was snapping at all of his other pack mates as well – calling Scott a traitor for willingly giving in, or saying Sam was weak for being unable to resist. Getting into verbal fights with Natasha when her mood swung around to angry, or after she'd cuddled up to Steve.
Whenever Steve was not in the room to direct his frustration, Clint would turn his acidity on the others, the man frustrated beyond his ability to suppress it and lacking any other outlet to cope with it.
Steve has taken to gagging Clint, just to keep him from upsetting the others.
That, of course, only makes Clint even more angry.
Steve hates to do it to him, but it's the only way he can keep the peace between five converting people who are unhappy and cooped up and have massive hormone imbalances that they can only really take out on one another and him.
It's a rough few weeks for all of them, and Steve is definitely feeling worn out by all of it, but eventually the hormones start to settle, and thankfully so do his pack mates.

(Anonymous) 2020-04-17 07:12 pm (UTC)(link)I can't wait to see Clint finally break. Like a long term habit rocketing towards extinction, him snarling and snapping and fighting constantly- until he (probably) just stops. Breaks completely and gives in.... Such an amazing detail, to show him winding up before that, if that's the way you're planning to go.
Thank you so very much for this fill- it keeps making my month!
